Just FYI: 1860 census Pulaski Co, Newbern Post Ofc has 96 pgs x 40 people/pg = 3,840 people living in Pulaski Co.
Note that I think census taker jumped to conclusion & put William, son of Franklin, as Jr because he lived beside his uncle, William, brother of Franklin and was put down as Sr, when really he was a Jr!
I just learned that when two people had the same name, the older was flagged as Sr and the younger one as Jr. Even if they were not father & son. FR 20May2013

I found Fannie C & a couple children in the 1920 & 1930 census. The 1920 census had Fannie C as head of household & she was living with a daughter & her husband in 1930. Our cousins Harry Lee Senter et al report having found Wm Riley's grave somewhere in Washington Cnty (Abingdon) and is buried with Fannie C. That is the location they were living at the 1910 census.

Former Kissimmee Mayor Riley Miles Dies At 73 July 15, 1987 Riley S. Miles, 73, mayor of Kissimmee from 1956 through 1958, died Monday. He also served on the Kissimmee City Commission from 1952 through 1955. Retired County Judge Russell Thacker described Miles as an ''outstanding citizen, public servant and individual. If he told you something, you'd believe it.'' Miles was born in Chicago and moved to Kissimmee from Kingsport, Tenn., in 1950. He was a retired lobbyist and former owner of Miles Pontiac Dealership, Kissimmee, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kissimmee. He was a charter member of the Elks Lodge No. 1873 and a past president of the Kissimmee Kiwanis Club. He was executive director of the Water Users Association of Florida from 1968 through 1986. Miles was on the governing board of the Central and Southern Florida Flood Control District from 1958 through 1967, serving seven years as chairman. He was chairman of the board of the National Environmental Development Association from 1976 until his retirement earlier this year. Acting Kissimmee City Manager Berlinsky, a neighbor of Miles' during the 1950s, said ''he was a wonderful man. I'm going to miss him.'' Survivors include his wife, Julia E.; daughters, Julianne M. Stewart, St. Cloud; son, Riley Stephen ''Steve'' Miles Jr., Kissimmee; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Kissimmeee, with the Rev. Ross Geiger officiating, assisted by Dr. R. Douglas Stewart. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 1 to 9 p.m. today. Grissom Funeral Home in Kissimmee is in charge of arrangements.

Stone, Ausker Meek: Born Dec. 13, 1878, near Marion, Va. He was one of a family of nineteen children. He was for a time a student at Emory and Henry College. Engaged for some years in milling and electrical business, and later, was a traveling salesman. He was converted and united with Mt. Carmel Church in childhood. In his forty-third year (1921) he gave himself anew to God and felt anew the call to preach, and was licensed to preach. He was immediately given work as a supply. Admitted in 1923, he served five charges. He was a builder of churches. Ardent in temperament, he won friends readily and had a genius for leadership. Although beginning to preach late, he was an acceptable preacher and his work was successful. He married Oct. 19, 1898, Miss Octavia Etter, Rural Retreat, Va. Shortly after Conference in 1934 he underwent a serious surgical operation in a hospital in Norton, Va., where he was entering upon his third year as pastor. He died suddenly in the parsonage on Nov. 30, 1934. He was buried at Mt. Carmel, Smythe County, Va.

"There's a Stone's Store Near You!" a 2008 biography of Stone by Lou Merritt.
Stone had relatives in Valdosta, Ga., where he attended a year at Emory Junior College in 1936-1937.
Stone had relatives in Valdosta, Ga., where he attended a year at Emory Junior College in 1936-1937. After his parents could no longer afford college, Stone returned to Virginia and worked at a farm, at a mill and as a bill collector before training to become an Army pilot. He came to Bainbridge in 1943 to attend aviation cadet training during World War II. He later served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-17 bomber pilot, attaining the rank of Second Lieutenant. He was shot down over German-controlled oil fields in Romania, and was taken as a prisoner of war. He was released in September 1944 and returned to America via Italy.
Stone married and was a flight instructor at Moody Field in Valdosta, Ga., for a short time before receiving a medical retirement from the Army in 1945 (due to a back injury he sustained while flying overseas.)
After getting a degree in agriculture from the University of Georgia, he returned to Bainbridge for good in 1949, at first working for the hardware store chain owned by his father-in-law, J.D. Bower Sr., who had been in business since the 1920s. Stone also worked for Western Auto and a Ford dealership in the 1950s, before starting his own business.
"I was born in Virginia, but I got here just as fast as I could," Stone was known for saying about Bainbridge. April 17, 2009 was declared "Jim Stone Day" in the City of Bainbridge, marking the 50th anniversary of the first Stone's store.
His friend Charles Kirbo introduced him to Jimmy Carter, who was at the time running for Governor of Georgia. Upon his election in 1971, Governor Carter appointed Stone to a commission which helped recommend candidates for judgeships around the state. In his book, Stone recalled Carter-who later became the 39th President of the United States-coming to Bainbridge to attend Kirbo's funeral in 1996 and dropping by Stone's store.
He was recognized by the Chamber as Bainbridge's Man of the Year in 1987 and in 2007 he received the Chamber's Community Service Award. He received the Hero of Freedom Award at Grace Christian Academy in 2003.
